Wellbutrin and Prozac - Could not endure

Posted by rjlockhart04-08 on October 7, 2009, at 19:13:45

I took 150mg for a couple days, and it produced horrible anxiety [jumping out of your skin like anxiety], it caused some depression because of the inhibition of dopamine. Is there anything similar to Wellbutrin? that doesnt cause similar effect's as far as anxiety wise. What it did was raise NE levels way to high with Prozac.

Anything you guys? I thought it would of been a good benefit for a replacement of stimulant function, it caused "some" psychoactive effect's yet it did not get to the level where concentration increases, some motivation increased the 2nd day, the 3rd day was 'anxiety' at it's worst, it very similar to taking Strattera [back in 2007] with Prozac because they both caused this 'jumping out of skin' anxiety. Strattera was a bit worse, I rerember I said 'thank you' after I went off it.

Anything? during the it's hard to function, and stimulants [i do take nuvigel] are not considered at the moment, is there any other medication exept Ritilin that causes a psychostimulant improvement?

thanks;)

what? stimulant's don't provide anxiety that bupropion gives, I've taken stimulant's with Prozac and it was fine.

I couldn't tolerate wellbutrin very well, let alone with Prozac. Provigil/Nuvigil halped with fatique and concentration with prozac. Stimulants also helped; they didn't increase anxiety per se, but can make the body and speech a bit jittery when they first hit. Although the come down with Provigil isn't as bad as stopping stimulants, Dexedrine XR (and perhaps Adderall XR) would be a second choice if its not covered by insurance

Yea..Comparison between them. Adderall XR is more "energizing", Dexedrine Spansules are more for concentration and motivation. Yet the last Provigel is the one that gives the most energy, that I can think of, it's properties are diffrent than other's, it doesnt effect the nuerotransmitters as other stimulants do.

The only thing, is my mother does not prefer stimulants, the doctor would have no problem with a scipt, it's my mother that say's "no". So gotta live with it. Until my own control is back again, and I trust myself, then I can handle insurance.

thanks;

Wellbutrin...there was some aspect's that increased concentration, yet with it where anxiety/depression because of the inhibition of dopamine, which causes things to seem "flat", very similar to Ritilin (the depressing feeling), yet it has weaker properties on dopamine, and more on Norepinehrine.

Thanks!
