Cheery.....

I'm not sure I want to be the first in line in October to get a vaccine that isn't as time tested as the regular flu vaccine 2009-2010.

I already have my regular flu vaccine, I got it just as it came out. GSK FluLaval.

There are 5 killed-inactive vaccines I believe, besides the FluMist which I would personally avoid.

You know I hope from health training, Jan, that there are only very rare scenarios where one can actually *possibly* get any real flu-like conditions from a live-killed vaccine and that is serious full-blown AIDS or other related disorders.

There is no live flu at all.

But there is a chance, not to remind you of it, at your age, that *without* the vaccine you could put yourself at risk and contract it and stand a greater chance of dying.

That someone still gets a flu even after being vaccinated means one of two things 1) they already were developing it during the several weeks' buildup of inoculation, or 2) it didn't work, as can be in the 10-20% of cases, but even if it doesnt "work", a flu in an inoculated person is often attenuated.

And you should definitely also have a pneumonia vaccine as well, but I can't convince you on that one either.... that is a secondary complication of what could be flu or swine flu, among other conditions.

Jay hi sweetie thanks for the concerns I appreciate it. Did you hear the thing on the news that the nurses in NY refuse the Swine Flu Vaccine not enough testing and that if don't get it will lose their job. Also a girl in Florida write with Sister in law a nurse they the Nurses where she works also refuse same reason. No vaccines for me. I haven't read the latest newsletter today on what happened in NY. Also on Facebook my site lots of discussions on it and none getting it. Why not join? Love Jan
