Do I have to be off Paxil for a certain amount of time before starting Vivactil? I see my new PYSCH Dr. tomorrow, finally!! I hope to come off the Paxil and start a TCA. While I wait for the Paxil to leave my system, I want to start the TCA. Then after the 2 weeks have gone by, I would like to start an MAOI...
The TCAs I've tried are Pamelor and Anafranil, neither worked well. One interacted with Wellbutrin and caused a seizure.
I just thought I'd mention, I've had my Vitamin D checked and it was low...I take 50,000 once a week. I've had my Thyroid checked about 4 times, always came back normal. Adrenals have also been checked and back normal. My ferritin level was like 22 and I wish it was up to at least 50.

Vivactil is stimulating if remember correctly. Different from paxil. Good luck. Phillipa

Sorry you didn't get many replies. I hope your appointment with your new pdoc goes well. How did it go? Are you starting Vivactil?

I'm scheduled to have ECT done this coming Tuesday and Friday for the first time...we just increased my paxil and ritalin for now...thanks

Monica no discussion of the vivactal or Maoi's. Just go to ECT? Seriously have you researched this throughly? I know there are boards for ECT. Phillipa
