Hi,
I've now been on Wellbutrin along with Anafranil for two weeks and sometimes I can sort of feel it trying to work but it doesn't seem to be quite getting there. Today I've upped the dose to 450 and still feel the same as on 300mg. I can tell it is trying to do something in the way that it is affecting my visual perception (I seem to have better focus on things).
Trouble is I've now run out of Wellbutrin so cannot continue with the experiment.
I go to see my psychiatrist in about 4 weeks (whih will be the amount of time it will take to give the Reboxetine (which I haven't been taking) a try). I didn't feel the Reboxetine doing anything at all so I will tell her that I'd like to come off the Reboxetine.
How long does it normally take wellbutrin to provide a full effect? If the way I'm feeling now is the way I will stay then I want to try something else as it doesn't feel fully effective even with the clomipramine?
Thanks.....Denise

Denise assuming you have no anxiety as wellbutrin at 150 I appeared hypomanic and hospitalized. I wonder why? Phillipa

Hello again Scott,
I felt a slight improvement for about a year on Lexapro (not half as good as my response to the Seroxat though) and then after a year I started feeling really bad again, the anxiety was awful and I could not stop thinking about suicide. I felt like I was becoming a total wreck (thank God for the Zyprexa).
As for Effexor I don't really know how I responded to that as I never gave it very long or at very high doses. I think my choices now (if I have any) are Either:
Parnate and a tricyclic and maybe Wellbutrin
Effexor combined with Remeron and maybe Wellbutrin
High dose Sertraline and a stimulant
Emsam
ECT
VNSThanks for the tip about Wellbutrin going well with Lexapro and Effexor.
I have thought about taking 80mg of Seroxat for a week to see if that does any good.

You are certainly creative. I think your choices of drug combinations are interesting and worth pursuing. I would pass on the VNS for now. DBS would have a higher rate of success.
Don't neglect low-dose lithium as an augmenter.
What other mood stabilizers have you tried?
What other atypical neuroleptics have you tried?

Do I recall you saying you were in the UK Denise?
If so, how did you get them to prescribe Wellbutrin, as I didn't think it was approved as an AD here?
Private psychiatrist?

Thanks Denise - I may well do that.
I'm trying various prescribed and OTC strategies to play with dopamine at the moment, trying to alleviate a drug-induced speech/movement disorder.
My neuro had some success with a low-dose antipsychotic with a patient with a similar condition so I've been taking 50mg of Seroquel. Great for sleep and anxiety but causing apathy and a little depression and not helping the movement disorder at all!
Seems like the next step will be to try boosting dopamine instead of blocking it!
