I've been taking 10mg of Zyprexa Velotab for the last five weeks now, as prescribed by my p/doc. I'm also on 150mg Effexor, 40mg buspirone and 600mg of lithium. My main diagnosis is severe panic disorder, GAD, social phobia and depression. Zyprexa has always helped in the past so my p/doc decided to prescribe it again as I'm going through a rough time at the moment. This is the first time I've tried the Velotab version (my p/doc prescribed this as he heard that it causes less weight gain than the standard tablets).
The big problem is is that the Zyprexa doesn't seem to be doing very much this time around. In fact my anxiety seems worse. Zyprexa has always worked for me in the past (at 10mg or above) but it seems to be doing nothing this time around.
Is it because I'm taking the Velotab version which I place under my tongue? Would that really have any effect on the anxiolytic properties of Zyprexa? Should I go back to the tablet version? I would be grateful for any advice you could give.
Thanks
jms

Are you taking any other meds that you weren't taking before?

No, although I was only taking 75mg of Effexor compared to 150mg which I'm taking now.

More antidepressant doesn't always equate to less depression.
Did 150mg of effexor produce a clear improvement over 75mg?

Hi LinkadgeThere was avery slight improvement but nothing major at all. I'm more corcern about beating the anxiety rather than the depression. Do you think I should drop back down to 75mg?
Thanks

well effexor 75mg acts more like a SSRI. while 150mg acts more like a SNRI. I bet its just the different brand your taking. I remember the sublingual or whatever and I wasnt as tired when I took it.
