After 40 years of benzos doesn't seem to matter. Both are okay as far as I know. Which one are you taking? Phillipa

I let klonopin dissolve under my tongue when I want really fast absoption. I have no data but I think it works faster that way. I don't know what the effects of food are on it's absorption. RxList.com would tell you under clinical pharmacology.

When you place it under your tongue it's called sublinqual and it bypasses gastrointestinal tract and immediatedly goes into the blood stream. Great for meds like benzos and heart medications like digoxin. Some meds should be taken with foods and some not. Should be on the paper which comes with your medication. Or google. Phillipa

I've taken that on an empty stomach also. No problem for me. Phillipa
