Michael Jackson's alleged drug combo:

Xanax, Vicodin, Paxil, Demerol, Soma, Dilaudid, Zoloft.

If the tabloids are to be believed.

I don't understand a combination of two SSRIs.

Yeah what's up with these doctors giving celebrities these potentially deadly combos? Didn't Anna Nicole Smith's son die of an SSRI combo? I know he's not really a celebrity.

If that was the combination Jackson was taking, no wonder he dropped dead. Maybe someone that weighed more than 100 pounds could have handled it. Doctors need to start being held liable for this irresponsible prescribing of meds.

There are four pains meds in that combo not to mention a potentiating med of xanax. Dilaudid is about as strong as pain meds come with Demerol? And then add Soma and Vicodin? As someone said today if you can afford it you can get whatever you want. No wonder the cardiologist disappeared and he wasn't breathing. Respiratory depression first. That's my feeling Phillipa

....If the tabloids are to be believed.

It just seems a list of medications that besides two SSRIs are 'known to be abused' so there's an immediate tabloid 'sourcework'.

Its way too soon to make any judgment and I would scarcely believe The Sun or TMZ.

Toxicology reports that complex don't come in a day like on NCIS or other crime drama shows in a city as big as Los Angeles.

And especially careful analysis is needed considering the celebrity nature of the individuals.

Yes, I would think the tabloids would just throw together any and all drugs he may have ever been on. There is no proof, at this point, that he had each of these drugs in his system at the time of death.

If you are rich and famous in this world you get all the good stuff.

Sometimes it's best not to get what you want.

He must have been a very unhappy man. And a man in constant pain, probably facial pain because of the manifold plastic surgeries he suffered. You don't take such a shitload of opiates for fun. (Good clean heroin would do, and Michael could afford it.)

May God have his soul - not the voduns that Michael apparently sought refuge in.

MJ's thoughts, lifestyle, habits, inclinations, and, perhaps his non-adherence to medical directions, may have had a lot more to do with his death than the medications he was using - as prescribed. I'm referring to the intensity of anxiety/depression that confronted him every single day, for whatever reason. For most people who find themselves therein, Wit's End corner is an indescribable Hell: a place where there is no natural joy and elation, and most important of all, no sense of delight/euphoria/excitement.Is that not what most of us wish to resuscitate via medications?
