Finally got my hands on some NUVIGIL. First day felt like this: first six or seven hours, felt like I had taken a very strong cup of coffee, but not overly stimulated. Then for hours 8 - 10, very noticeable mood lift. Now, about 15 hours after I took my morning dose, it is 1:00 a.m. and I am working on the computer still. I could go to bed and fall asleep i think, but I don't want to. I feel like I could work all night.
Will keep you all posted.

Sounds encouraging.
What condition are you being treated for?
Thanks.
I hope things continue in a positive direction for you.

Have you taken Provigil? I'd be interested to know how it compares. I take Provigil twice a day for mood and energy. It sounds like Nuvigil uses the longer acting enantiomer of Provigil. I'm wondering if it seems to have the same effects on mood and energy? Once a day dosing would certainly be preferable. My insurance pays for my provigil, with a $50 co-pay. I'll bet it will be a while before they pay for a newer generation.
Thanks

That doesn't sound encouraging at all. Dude you're taking too much if you feel like you can safely pull all nighters. P.S. How depressed were you before? Be sure you're not triggereing a manic episode of something.

Michael, if I remember correctly, you are dealing with SA issues? If so, do you feel the nuvigil is addressing that issue? (If i've confused you with someone else, my apologies.)

Noticed the same issues today: Peripheral stimulation making me nervous for the first seven hours, then about an hour of elevated mood and some prosociability, then kind of a somewhat zoned feeling. So far, no help for SA issues.

Hi Zana, yes I have taken provigil. Honestly the nuvigil has been causing more peripheral effects, more feelings of slight overstimulation and nervousness than I remember the provigil did. Also makes me so damned serious (like all stimlants do) and less sense of humor. It is somewhat effective for staying on task, but so far the bad outweighs the good.
