Using Effexor to get off Pristiq?

Posted by Long Road on June 2, 2009, at 14:18:41

Under doc's supervision I started doing this today. The reason being that they make smaller doses of effexor than of pristiq, but from what I'm reading, it looks like it could be going from the frying pan and into the fire.

Anyone have any thoughts/experiences? Thanks.

So it's supposed to be that rough getting off Pristiq? Sigh. I wish you luck and am interested to hear what others have to say.

Some people are fine coming off it without having to wean. I started having bad symptoms on the second day last time I tried.

That seems odd to me. The Effexor discontinuation effect would make discontinuing Pristiq child's play from what I've read of people who suffer discontinuation problems.
