Nardil and vomiting?

Posted by Cseagraves on May 10, 2009, at 16:33:25

Has starting on Nardil ever made someone throw up? I have been on Nardil now for two weeks and every day the nausuea has been getting worse. Have lost 5 lbs this last week and today I started vomiting. I am so weak I can hardly move. Am on 45 mgs per day and am feeling worse every day, not better. Is this a normal reaction for some people?

Anxiety seems worse and now am feeling more depressed. Maybe I should back up on dosage?

Any advice or suggestions?

Courtney

Sounds like time to let your pdoc know what is going on. Vomitting does not sound OK.
Sorry you've been having such a hard time.

So sorry to hear you're having such a hard time . Among other side effects, I found myself vomiting in my sleep. It was great for depression, but the severity of the side effects was too much for me.

It may well be that you are very sensitive to Nardil's side effects and they might be the deal breaker as to whether or not you can continue your trial with it.

I feel so badly for you..I hope you call your doc right away and tell him/her what's happening.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I called pdoc and he wants me to back off. Did you end up coming off of the Nardil completely?

I wasnt taking it for depression, but felt like it definately made me more depressed. Was hoping it would help with anxiety.

What are you taking now? Did you find something that is helping you? Feel so lost now as I do not know what to try next. Have tried everything pretty much.

Hi Courtney..yes, I had to come off it. There was another side effect that was pretty awful.

I'm back to revising old meds that worked for any period of time in the past. Not a good place to be, that's for sure. Paxil worked wonders a few years ago..at this time I'm getting a partial response to it..I've begun to lose hope of ever finding the right cocktail..I'm lost too..but I do get some comfort knowing I'm not alone in this journey ((hugs))
