tandospirone prescribing information, etc.

Posted by iforgotmypassword on March 30, 2009, at 10:16:23

i would like to try to get tandospirone through the special access programme in canada. does anyone know if there is an english website for the drug, and an english language version of the prescribing information leaflet or insert, and anything else that may be helpful to convince my doctor it is worth a try, and help get the request through?

the other option seems to be the uhh, buspirone + grapefruit juice idea. this may allow a lower dose and thus help minimize how much 1-PP gets produced, but does not deal with the sketchy D2 issue. also, there is just seems to be more knowledge on tandospirone when it comes to higher dosing.

Martindale's has a monograph on tandospirone, but it's a fee-based resource. Maybe a university library?

Try pubmed for a search man....go here:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/

search for your medication name and look through the academic papers available there. If you come across something that you cant get ahold of free, as academic literature is often subscription based, let me know the article you would like and I will get it for from the Univ. I'm up there alot.

To give you an idea of the resource value of PubMed (by far the number 1 starting place for papers like that you seek)...there are 163 papers, from what I see on a quick search, on the drug "tandospirone". Shitloads of material your dr may potentially find useful.

I've found this pharmacy where it can be ordered.

Trouble is, I can't read or write Japanese.

I'm also interested in trying Tandospirone, due to it's lack of side effects.

It's quirky as all heck, but you can submit a URL to Google Translate, and it'll do its best to makee Englee. At the very least, you should probably be able to identify a contact email address.

Larry,

Yes I know, tried that. Translates everything except the ordering page (because it's secured??).

Am not sure they speak English at the pharmacy.

Love,
M.
