Does Lithium or Depakote cause more weight gain? I gained A TON of weight on Depakote, and I still can't get rid of it. Would Lithium cause less? I know it's individual, but I'm asking, in general.

lithium only caused a little weight gain for me. It made me like food more. When I took depakote years ago I ate like a pig.

I noticed weight gain at the beginning but now I am back to normal. I am 23 Male. Weight at the start of Valproic Acid (Generic Depakote) was around 165 and I got up to 190 within a year and now I am back to 170-175. So the fluctuating was not intense, but it did make me gain weight. I have never tried lithium. I refused to try it.
I take 1000mg of Valproic Acid now. I have been on that dose for over a year. I seem more tired when I am on it.
Do you get tired when you take Depakote/Lithium compared to when you don't?
