How does effexor compare with Welloft?

SSRI + bupropion combo? In the star*d trials they recommend it as getting some extra 20% or so people better - could this be because it lessens the sexual + apathetic sfx though?

I'm just going over posts from various bods on the net who say effexor was the best med they've ever taken, better then any SSRIs, but maybe they haven't taken welloft or other similar combos?

Does anyone with experience in both?

Welloft certainly has a reputation for working well for some people. Adding Wellbutrin to Effexor also increases one's chances of responding. I don't think it needs to be an either-or scenario.

I don't qualify as a success story with Wellbutrin. It makes me feel worse, even when combined with an MAOI.

Nor I one week was hypomanic in pdocs eyes got sent to hospital and taken off. but know a lot of people that love the combo. Phillipa

I've tried bupropion with venlafaxine and a few ssris. Generally, ssris don't suit me, but the combination was better than either by itself.
