First of all, let me start with the fact that I'm female. :) I'm on Nardil 75 mg and Lamictal 300 mg. I suffer the lovely side effect of anorgasmia. It's been 4 months since I started Nardil at 45 mg, and the a few days ago I actually had an orgasm for the first time in 4 months! It was small and fast, but at least it was there. I was so ecstatic I must have danced around for like 5 minutes jumping up and down! I thought, ok good, they're back! But then last night I tried, and I couldn't. What's up with that? I thought once you broke free of that side effect that it would be gone. I'm confused! Have others had the same problem? Where now you can and can't- it's on and off? I've never had any trouble before the Nardil, never ever ever, so I know it's the Nardil for certain.
Thanks for your responses in advance!

I think it has more to do with were you are in your monthly cycle with your hormone fluctuations. There are times when it's better, like when I'm mid cycle. I asked my doctor for some Viagra. One 100mg pill cost me like $15.00. It's cheaper this way, so I can split the pill. I only tried it once, and only took 25mg. The lower dose didn't do much. I'm going to take 50mg the next time and see what happens. I hear they are working on a female version, so it sounds very promising.

Maybe that's it. I was able to orgasm the day prior to starting my cycle. I think I'll keep a log and see if there's any pattern there. I heard and read studies about cyproheptadine being effective for MAOI-induced anorgasmia. I ordered some a few days ago and I'll let you know if it works!

I woudl be interested in that too, my recollection is just from reading about 5ht2a specifically in regards to male orgasm, wonder if cyproheptadine works for women. the PDE5 drugs would be the next thing to try, i think.
On parnate, my libido & everything was gradual return. It took a month before i could get off, and that took like forever. But i was just really determined. and then it took a week to 'gather my energy' so to speak for the next time. A few weeks later and i was basically back to normal. Four months, thats a long time! It was especially annoying as right before i had been taking selegiline, which sucked as an antidepressant, but was great for libido.

You're telling me... 4 months is foreverrrrr! And now I'm afraid if I increase my dose is it going to go away again? I can deal with every other single side effect, but not that one. I mean, I guess I have to, but it's by far the only one that really matters! I've been lucky and really haven't had any other side effects besides the sedation. Hopefully that goes away over time though.Concerning whether or not cyproheptadine works for women, I did some research both on this board and on the internet prior to ordering it, and this is some of what I found:
On http://www.ashp.org/mngrphs/essentials/a382541e.htm, "Cyproheptadine has been effective for the management of inhibited male or female orgasm induced by tricyclic antidepressants, MAO inhibitors, and..."
I'm crossing my fingers! Should be here in a few days.

> Please do, thanksSorry to say, no it didn't work. I think it may have been more effective for males. Just my opinion. I've also tried Horny Goat Weed, after reading a lot about that, and was on it for a quote a while, just to give it an honest try. It never helped either!
