I feel it is how the poster feels when he feel good. just kind of a joke and a title he gave himself. It was when lots of joking was on the meds board to help cheer people up. No responding to a med doesn't make you a champ I don't think. Phillipa

I'm sensitive to people who are full of themselves, but I don't think the person you're referring to is that way. I think he's just enthusiastic about a drug that works for him and wants to share the good news with others. He's making a statement about the drug rather than about himself. It comes across to me as encouraging rather than self-aggrandizing.

I believe the poster yr refering to is 'ACE THE NARDIL CHAMP' I believe a metabalite of Nardil is amphetamine-like, perhaps he was having a revered up type reaction and coupled with his enthusium for the meds hopefullness lead to great energy in posting.

Your a champ if you are unwell and of little use to yourself or family, get help, then become more functional to yourself and thoes around you.

For a while I was the Princess of PolyPsychoPharmacy, or PoPPP, for short.

I had to make it silly, or else it would be far too disturbing to take so many pills everyday.

Maybe some humor or silliness can take away the grim moments that we face when we are mentally ill?

I think you've simply misunderstood his semantics.

Champion has more than one meaning. It is not only referring to a winner or superior individual, it also describes someone who is an ardent supporter or defender of a cause, e.g. champion of the homeless.

Ace is from Australia, and it doesn't surprise me that his use of the word reflects the British sense of the word, a meaning that seems to be less common in usage in North America. His promotion of Nardil is in full accord with that definition, i.e. ardent support of Nardil treatment.

Best,
Lar

Ace, how long have you been the Nardil Champ?

I never found ace to be using the term in a boastful way. He is saying he has found a med, Nardil, that has helped him tremendously.

He is a champion of sorts since he is a supportie and kind individual be his support and interest in others.

We need more champions in this fight of our lives. There are others but he has chosen to idenitify himself as such. Nice to have that confidence and for Nardil to work so well for him for so long.

How long has it been Ace??
