Any Memantine Stimulant Combo. Positive Responses?

Posted by eric wagner on July 29, 2008, at 17:37:40

Has anyone used Memantine in combination w/ a stimulant & had a positive response; as far as negating the common stimulant tolerance produced or enhanced effects of ADD/depression symptoms?

I am considering speaking to my Psychiatrist about possibly trying this combination, as my 5 Daytrana trials produced tolerance after 2 weeks.
The positive effects & lack of multiple symptoms was the best & only positive response I have ever had from many, many types of medications, although very short lived.

Thank You & Be Well,
Eric M. Wagner

Hi Eric, you should search for the posts of AndrewB especially, and also temoigneur and, on the www.addforums.com/forums, barbarian.

I am currently trialing 30mg memantine daily with dextroamphetamine for a quite similar situation, and have not developed tolerance with a week of dosing, but feel it is too early to make a positive report in re: lack of tolerance to the mood/motivational effects.

cumulative,

How is memantine? Have you noticed any side effects?

Eric, I'd like to hear if you do start this combo what you think, too.
