Effexor XR and appetite

So I just increased my Effexor XR from 150mg/day to 225 mg/day two days ago. I am also taking 50 mg/day of Lamictal and, for this week, 1mg of Xanax at night to sleep. This is all under pdoc's-orders. I have found today that my appetite has dramatically increased - I am starving even immediately after I eat. Could this be a result of the Effexor? I know I need to just wait and see, but I wanted to know if it's a possibility.

Hi Sunndays yes it's a possibility some people take wellbutrin with effexor for that reason. But did you get an appetite when you started on effexor? Is so that could be the case if not maybe not. Love Phillipa

Hi,

I'm now on Effexor 450mg & Remeron 180mg. But I started with just the Effexor. The most common side effect is nausea. So either you're having an idiosyncratic reaction or it's something else causing it :)
