I have been on 30-70mg increased to (70mg) to help with communication and focus. Which i lack incredibly. Vyvanse is slow and doesnt give what you call the "sting" from adderall. Or the "activation" of Dexedrine.
My doctor thought it was best to take Vyvanse, and he hopes it works. But, i have one question. 70mg is noticable, but didnt give that noticable of Dexedrine. This doctor is very strict, but i am going to ask him if 50mg in morning and 50 afternoon. Which is a total of 100mg.
Vyvanse doenst produce the "euphoria" that straight d-amphetamine produces. Its unique, it helps focus, but when i was on Dexedrine i was more vigilent and active. Vyvanse is slow peaking period and its spread out.
My ability to focus is better, but i need to get on a correct dose. I was on 20mg + 20mg in afternood of dexedrine, about 2 years ago. Worked very well, it just wore off quick.
It works, but its slow acting like. There really is no "rush" from it, as apposed to adderall.
Is 100mg daily a presibing amount, or is 70 the highest?

Slow acting isn't a bad thing. That initial feeling of euphoria is often a sign that your dose is too high. And if you are seeking that rush, you're probably in great danger of medication abuse.
My advice is to see how this does for you. If it helps with your focus, isn't that really what you're taking it for? If it's working for you, isn't that a sign you're on the right dose?
Have you had any history of stimulant abuse?

I speak with quite few people on vyvanase and they like it very much as it lasts much longer than the others and really helps them focus. Sounds your doc found a great med for you. Phillipa

I am on 50 mg Vyvanse in the a.m., and another 50 mg after lunch. It works fine for me. The doc didn't so much have had problem with it, but the insurance companies I have had since taking it tend to cause problems, only approving a daily dose of 50 mg, etc.
In response to another post in this thread, I did in fact suffer a horrible meth addiction, but oddly enough, Vyvanse does not cause any problems with respect to that: no cravings or anything.

Vyvanse is not like any speed type medication. Its a stimulant, but its not like the orginal stimulants. I have to have something to help me focus during the day, its imparitve, espeically where i work. The good thing, no redoses, i would have to take Dexedrine 2 twice during the day, one in the morning, 2nd in the afternood.
The only problem, is its hard to be noticable.
Focus is the main thing i have to have.
