I am starting a new thread as I want to discuss the sexual side effects of Lexapro.
Anyone out there who have had a loss of libido?

i'm awfully tired...more so than when i started it. i had not thought of that, think i'll up my exercise...i walk...
thanks for your response. maybe this will adjust the longer we take it. my daughter is on Celexa and she said that she improved after she was on it for a few months.

I'm not totally sold on this Lexapro yet. I'm still tired-- it started a few days after first taking it-- (three weeks ago)-- but-- I don't think I'm as tired as at the beginning, so maybe it's improving-- just don't like being tired.
About the sexual side effects--- it's kind of hard to tell for me-- I've been struggling on with husband's drinking -- haven't felt too sexual for quite a while... so, it's hard to tell for me. It does seem that it's becoming increasingly more difficult to "O". (eeks-- did I just divulge that!) which concerns me, as I sure don't want what few good things I have to be taken away........I was on Celexa a few years ago-- the psych-doc said this Lexapro is it's "cousin".... so I figured they would act similar. I didn't feel tired with Celexa though-- just gained too much weight for my liking...... so I wanted to try something diferent.
guess I'll give it more time and see........

the tired aspect never went away for me. and i have a friend on it also, same for him. in fact sometimes he'll stop taking it just so he doesn't feel tired all the time.
but i don't want to poo poo the med for you or others.

nope, i haven't been able to 'O' on it since i've been on it...well, twice out of xxxx times.
and i have to 'drag myself' to do it. i mean im attracted to my DH, i love him and i know in my head i 'want' to. but my body 'says' "i don't care".
and when i have sex i can get excited to the point where i think i might 'O', but just can't quite do it...even if DH lasts a long time.
and he ends up feeling kind cruddy sometimes cuz he wants to satisfy me (nice hubby).HOWEVER, i just started Geodon and it's giving me lots of aggitation, almost anger, not quite anger but energy...aggitation...and last night we decided to have "aggitation sex" (hehe) cuz i had some energy, cept i took a xanax to calm down and was kinda tired but i figured i got him worked up earlier looking forward to it, so i thought what the h@ll it couldn't hurt. and the energy came back when we started and i HAD AN 'O'!!!!!!!!
that was like the first time in i can't even remember. So i think maybe being on the Geodon may reverse some of the sexual effect of the lexapro??
at least last night i think it did.
GOD i'm hoping!So here's to hope and Good Sex to ALL who want it!

The Lexapro supplements 200mg of Lamictal, so I don't know if we could safely add anything else to my cocktail.
I understand about your difficulties, it is the same here.
AND Congrats!!!! I hope that you are truly getting your groove on~ :-)

D@mn, did it again the next night....'here's hoping' attitude and nothing. DH even lasted 'love me looong time'.
poor guy. he tried hard too. my hats off to him.D@mn Lex.

the only people that i know that are taking Lexapro are here online. being open with one another could be all we've got. it is for me.
