Does anyone know if there is an alternative to seroquel that isnt a weight gainer.
I have been diagnosed with mild bi polar, post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorder and borderline personality disorder.

Hey I know how you feel - I've been on Seroquel 4 months and have gained a enormous amount of weight! I'm unsure about meds too, I react Badly to alot of meds I have been on....
I'm going to see my Psychiatrist in 2 weeks so I'll let you know the outcome, it may help you too.

I have an appointment with my Psychiatrist in about two weeks I'm going to ask if theres an alternative to seroquel, it does'nt seem to be making any differance (apart from midnight fridge raids)it doesnt even help me sleep. My Psychiatrist told me that it would probably help me sleep aswell as balancing my mood.
I react badly to some meds aswell, they seem to have an opposite effect on me, so make things worse.
I'll be interested to hear how your appointment goes and thanks for the reply:-)

Hey I know the feeling of the midnight fridge raids!
Seroquel helps me to stay asleep rather than helping me sleep - however I've stopped taking it as I missed a day last week and since then I've been really ill - I took it the next day and I passed out and have pretty much slept since then, I stopped it yesterday and feel like a different person - I do feel a massive difference on a night tho coz I just can't sleep at all!Are you on any other meds? I'm also on Lamictal 200mg - not sure on that one either although I have no side effects other than heating up in the summer I don't know if it is actually working or if I've just been taking it for that long it's just routine!
I'll let you know what happens with my psychiatrist - let me know what happens with yours - wonder if we get the same outcome =]
and thanks to you for your reply too =]
