I saw this chart on the Deplin site. Seems like deplin helps convert homocysteine to SAMe.Not that that's a bad thing if it works however you don't need a script to buy SAMe.

Just give the drug companies a while and it too will be prescription too so that would mean that Deplin is stimulating. Phillipa ps wouldn't that contraindicate it with ssri's?

No worries Phillipa, no contreindication. Stimulants are not contraindicated with SSRIs either, btw, although, as with any polypharmacy treatment, it may require some additional attention from the pdoc.
bulldog: imho, folate's role in the body is complex, and it particpates in a lot of complex systems, some poorly understood -- even though they isolate elevating SAMe in order to present a mode of action, this might not be the whole of the way Deplin might offer antidepressant benefit, although it's certainly something to consider, as you say.
