I need something to augment my 9-10mg of paxil. I also take clonazepam (which I may switch to ativan or xanax), 2.5mg ritalin 4 or more times a day, and 400-600mg gabapentin (helps with social anxiety).
I have tried dozens of medications. many made me worse. some made me better. I have strong atypical depression and social anxiety.
What can I expect from Seroquel? Zyprexa made me sleepy beyond belief and I couldn't stand it.
how does it effect drive, motivation, social anciety, emotions, sex drive?
Any advice or experiences or information would be greatly appreciated. Or advice on other options.
I'd love to try Abilify instead but it's not available in canada.

Seroquel is even more sedating than Zyprexa in my experience. Also caused nasal stuffiness.

Hi,
Seroquel 50 mg or more knocks me out. I use 25mg at night to sleep. I think my doctor gave it to me for anxiety.

Quintal said it pretty good.
Hey, have you tried Mirapex? If you haven't, that might be something to look into. It is sort of in the same circuits as Ritalin, though it isn't a stimulant, and has a decent body of evidence for use in augmentation for depression and anxiety.
Just a thought. I'm trying to think outside the box from things you've tried. Trying to attack different mechanisms than the common ones all your previous meds have had.

Hi
Seroquel didn't do a thing for my anxiety. I took up to 300mg, which admittedly isn't a really high dose, but it still failed to do anything. It didn't even made me drowsy. I'm now taking Zyprexa (5-10mg per day) and that also fails to make me drowsy. I'm moving on to Haldol to see if that will do anything.
My only advice would be to try it and see how you get on. We are all different and drugs affect us in different ways.
Best of luck!!
