dont know whats going on. i feel deeply depressed but cant/wont cry (i want to). I keep having massive bouts of rage at least once a day, usually more and i want to break/destroy/hurt something. anything. then in between its all dark. is this typical of bipolar? i thought the buspirone was working but what happened there? thought the lofepramine would help but cant get past 140mg/day. if i take the third pill (making 210mg/day) the rage gets worse. but it gets me up in the morning which i dont think i would do without it. only on 1.5mg/day clonazepam which i think making my depression worse but isnt enough for my social phobia cause i cant leave the house any more. my appetite is completely gone. my body is hungry but my mind feels sick at the thought of food. i have diabetes and coping is hard cause i have to eat or my insulin injections will send me into coma. i force feed myself chocolate bars wen my blood sugar is low. today i have less than 300 calories and been like that for weeks. dentist tomorow but cant go and have bad toothache. need to see my pdoc but thats not for 5 weeks. a gp wont want to touch my meds. i have some 5-htp - should i take some considering what else im on? things WERE getting better then pow! nothing. what is going on...?

tecknohed. I am bipolar and I have experience the some of the same sypmtoms. One moment I think my medicine is working great and the next I am completely depressed beyond belief. Have you tried calling your pdoc to see if he can answer of your questions over the phone. Maybe you could make an earlier appt. to see him/her. I know that some benzodiazepines are considered to depress a patient even more than what they were before. This is only coming from the research that I have done. Clonazepam is second to xanax is causing patients to become depressed. You might already know this information and I am sorry if I am repeating myself. I hope that everything goes well for you. It takes time to become better with you bipolar. I went through a stage where my bipolar completely took over my life. I wasn't manic, but depressed most of the time. I hope that you can get ahold of your pdoc so that he/she can help you with your situation.
GoodLuck : )

No tech if you're diabetic the chocolate is sugar which will in the long run makes things worse sugar crash. You must have protein. Can you drink milk or a protein shake and let your doc that treats the diabetes know as with insulin you are type l. And insulin must correspond to the blood level. I'm sure you have a glucometer or divise to measure your sugar there. Don't want you to end up in the hospital. Seriously call. Phillipa

Thanx for replies. Sorry finding it hard to answer your questions. I cant think very well. I am taking myself to urgent surgery this morning (UK) to try and swap my lofepramine & buspar for mirtazepine (try & get a high dose for NA/NE effect). Will load up on clonazepam to enable myself to get there.
But I will try and call my pdoc's clinic - whether he's there or not, or even if he has time to talk is another matter.
I do test my blood sugar 4+ times a day and also as i cant eat much Im not taking much insulin either. still, i cant go on like this. I swear its the buspar thats taken my appetite away. Must get rid!
will post later to let you know what happens.

Well I've managed to get a script for mirtazapine (Zispin/Remeron) and at 30mg/day too. I handed over all the lofepramine & buspar I had left, just to be on the safe side. I'm supposed to start on 15 & increase to 30 but I'll start with 30 & see what happens.
Questions: will 30mg/day 'really' be enough to increase NA/NE enough to lessen drowsiness? If taken at this dose do I still need to take it at bedtime or will splitting the dose, or taking it all in the morning be ok (in relation to drowsiness)? And what about taking it with clonazepam - I thought of moving my night dose of clon to morning (making 1mg in morn & 0.5mg at lunch - to help more with daytime social anxiety) & allowing the mirtazapine to get me to sleep, assuming I take it at night that is.
I know we're all different but if you've experience with mirtazapine, with or without benzos, then it would be of great help if you could attempt answering the above, or at least give your opinions.
Now I have my dentist to tackle this afternoon...GREAT!

Perhaps these AD's are causing cycling or mixed states ?
