tricyclics

i have been on adderall for many months now and am functioning on a practical level very well

the depression creeps in
ssri's are history for me
parnate scared me away from MAOI's
going to talk to my pdoc about the possibility of adding a tricyclic to the adderall

some side effects i struggle with are the gastro-intestinal upsets and this physical "worrying" or "fidgeting"-- chewing my nails and cuticals, searching out any and all sharp edges on my teeth with my tongue
it's maddening

generally i am doing well and using tianeptine occassionally but i would rather take a prescription medication for everyday use

any input would be appreciated

TCA'a can be good for GI and neurotic symptoms. You may want to try doxapin or amitryptaline first. They might be best of GI issues.

Hi,
I take AdderallXR 40mg 20in the am and 20 in the afternoon. I also take Lexapro and Lamictal. The mood swing/depression does creep up sometimes but generally goes away pretty quickly. The immediate release is what caused me to nail bite and have those reactions so that's why I switched to the extended version instead. So far as gas or other side effects. My pdoc said it was okay to take a few tums when that occurred and it generally helps within minutes. Also drink plenty of water! Plenty! Good Luck!
