Time to adjust the meds again...yuck. I am abroad now and not quite sure about the advice I am getting, so wanted to check it out here.
I have been on 40 mg Prozac and 200mg Wellbutrin a day, plus 2 Buspar (not sure of mg) at night. The past three months have been crazy stressful - before I was on half the Prozac but had to up it to 40 every other day, then to 40 every day.
Now the stress is subsiding and my pattern is to collapse. Can't and don't want to collapse. And, where I am at, Prozac is VERY expensive and I am running out. I have another month or so on the Buspar, can't get it here, but not too worried cuz I don't know that it makes a big difference.
So I need to make a change 1) cuz it isn't working like it should and 2) availability/price. I have been on Prozac 3x, and I guess it is possible that this is a prozac poop out. Before it was kinda the same thing - just before I stopped taking it I was very anxious and drinking a lot to self medicate.
I have some Pamelor I was prescribed, and the TCAs are quite affordable. But I have never taken the TCAs as a main course.
My options are (the Dr is pretty flex):
1) Up the prozac in addition to the wb - expensive, and never been on 60 mg prozac a day
2) Up the wellbutrin, keep the prozac at 40 or less - I have tried before and forget to take the afternoon dose often, so it puts me on a rollercoaster of sorts; rather take just morning and or bedtime
3) Continue wb and phase out prozac into a TCA - but if I do, which one, and how best to phase in/out? Anafranil was suggested???Any comments/thoughts/advice/suggestions appreciated - feel a bit on my own here, being in a different culture, etc.

Since your familiar with how prozac works I try upping it first. That's just me. Love Phillipa
