Hi Sweetie, I just wanted to say that I have been following your posts and I'm sorry that you are struggling. I want you to feel better and hope you get some clarity soon.
My PDOC decided to avoid changing meds right now but to try 5 mg of Zyprexa instead of 10 mg in hopes of avoiding blunting and muscle rigidity. We are hoping that this low does will still keep my irritability, anxiety and hypomania in check. If it doesn't we will try something else. She also wants me to see a pychologist for some talk therapy. I have an appointment on April 9th with her recommended professional that specializes in working with Bipolar individuals. I'm excited about this. My PDOC said that it's one thing to search for the perfect med cocktail but there is more to Sandra than the Bipolar label so is hoping that by working on my issues with the support of a psychologist we may find the missing link in this puzzle with the struggle to find quality of life. So I'm happy about these decisions. So far the Zyprexa is working. Keeping my fingers crossed.
The same for you! XOX

Sandra that was sweet and I appreciate the post to me. And I too am just starting out with a PHD to work on anxiety issues. As a matter of fact she's the person who recommended my new pdoc said he was great with med. Here's hoping two of us have much success. Hugs to you Love Phillipa

Hi Phillipa,
I came here to post a disaster report on Trileptol, but then I saw this thread and something about you struggling. One of the last messages was something about your thyroid.Mine has not acted up (knock on wood) but I remember when they tested my function to see if that might be one of the causes of my "treatment-resistant-everything". It came back OK.
But they told me that a malfunctioning thyroid can cause all sorts of metabolic problems. Figuring out what role the metabolic problems might play in treatment-resistant depression sounded like unknown territory for them.
I hope that's not what's going on with you. Maybe the change of venue with a new PhD (psychologist?) and pdoc will help, if only because some kind of change is needed.
I assume you have a regular MD and/or specialist who's on top of the thyroid? If he/she could hook up with the new pdoc and therapist, that would be great. That's the kind of support network I have now. I like it because everyone always knows what's going on and I don't have to play gopher to keep them coordinated.
Regardless of all that, I really appreciate your supportive responses to my incoherent posts. I hope things start working out for you.

Reggie that was sweet. I havc an endo who obviously isn't doing his job as my new pdoc even called him himself and he didn't return the call. So the pdoc has an internist friend right across the street and I'm scheduled to see him tomorrow. The internist is in the same network as the endo so we called for all my chart to be sent to the internists before I see him tomorrow. I seriously don't know why this pdoc feels so strongly that all this anxiety is thyroid caused . No one else ever did. And your posts are not incoherent. Love Phillipa
This is the end of the thread.
