Im sure they are a miracle for some in here, but I either felt nothing or worse on every single one I tried. I wish they would spend all $$$ on fine-tuning the old ones (MAOIs, TCAs) rather than try to come out with new SSRI every other month. Sorry if I offended anybody with this post, just a random thought. Heck, maybe everyone on an SSRI feels great, therefore doesnt bother to post. To those, congrats!

I think its kind of like being in a bar. The sign on the wall that says "NO POLITICS OR RELIGION". The converstaions last forever and ever, and I think the threads get tied up like a spider web. And then someone comes along and toally smashes the conversation, and puts it in a different catagory. Which is a kill joy!

Hey, I would love to talk about the SSRI's. They worked for me and are still working 6 years later.
I've had to jockey with the dose periodically, but they've never completely pooped out.
Everytime I bring it up here, I invariably get told that my response was due to a placebo effect and all in my head. Or,even worse, get babblemails pointing out studies that show they aren't effective at all.
So what's the point in talking about them here?

What's the point? If they are working for you, then you should share your story to help others. Who cares what other people say? I wouldnt take anything anyone says in here personal.
Thats great you are feeling better. Which drug?
Thanks, Michael

Oh Maddie that's horrible. I heard the same thing from another poster that got fed up cause she was better that she quit posting. That is just horrible. Why do you think others think you should be on an MAIO? Docs don't even use them at least most don't even the internists and GP's who do not get barraged by the drug companies for antidepressants? Just cause they didn't work for me doesn't mean they don't work for others. Plus I usally bailed out before I should have. My best results have always benzos and it's becoming antibenzo here too. And to set things straight I am out of the house everyday my definition of agoraphobia is not being very sociable like a coffee or meetings. Love Phillipa
