The generic bupropion sr tablets are very small(about half the size of the brand name wellbutrin tablets) Wouldn't this mean that the generic is only 1/2 as potent as the name brand? or maybe the generic is stronger?

No, the size of the tablets makes no difference to the potency of the drug. The active ingredient makes up only a small part of its volume, the bulk is made of fillers, binders and colorants etc. Both tablets should be of equal potency.
