Get This One One You Haven't Heard Before

Posted by Phillipa on March 6, 2007, at 14:58:13

Well I finally got in to the best pdoc around here he's wholistic minded too. He thinks based on endo bloodwork and others we had that my problem is not depression at all and wants me off the antidepressants so he can see me without. And to stay on the benzos but might later change to the long acting xanax. He doesn't think my problem is mental based on the family history but physical. He's calling the endo today and thinks I'll also end up off the thyroid meds as he said the labs are borderline so may not need them. And the reason thyroid was stable for 9 years was cause I was eating with food so the synthroid was binding with the food and really not getting absorbed. He asked about all the meds I'd been on and said yes luvox is very sedating hence his not wanting me on ad's and the only other he mentioned was serzone which I believe is generic now and antihistamine. And I told the one time I took it I slept all day. I asked about the liver and he said you have to watch it. Also told about the Addisons didn't seem to phase him. So first time I've seen a pdoc that is seeing patients from out of State based on his reputation to be good with meds and physical stuff too. So we'll see. Love Phillipa

Very encouraging. I like your new doctor already. Since I have a general disdain for most doctors, that is saying a lot. Sounds like someone who knows what they're talking about, someone who can put clues together, someone with creativity and a plan, someone who actually cares about you. Your old doctor never sounded to me like he was any of those things.

Blueberry thanks for replying as I felt that way too. Nothing is written in stone at this point. But I had always felt it was a physical problem as well. As I had the lymes disease too. And I was not depressed just very anxious and when anxiety down so were the benzos. And I was happy. Love Phillipa

Yes, I agree with blueberry. It really does sound like he's very good. And again, I also have a disdain for most doctors! So thats great news!!

Kind regards

Meri
