I've been taking .5 mg of Klon for Periodic Leg Movements Disorder. I've had 2 nights in a row of very little sleep/poor quality sleep.
I'm wondering if going from .5 to 1 mg of Klon would be too much of an increase in one step? Maybe OK to go up to .75 mg for a few days, then up to 1 mg if needed?
I realize that the question is best answered by my pdoc, but my next appointment is one month + away.

Klonopin is high-potency, so small moves=a pretty big change, but its also pretty non-sedating, so as long as the overall dose isn't too high, I imagine undesirable daytime side effects would be pretty minimal. Besides. 1 mgs is pretty small--doses usually range from 1-3mgs, sometimes a good bit higher.
Good luck.

Thanks for the information. My concern was that doubling the dose (.5mg to 1mg) could result in problems.
Thanks

Thanks. I used to take 3mg in PM for sleep -- due to using 60 mg of Parnate during the day. I think that the use of Lamictal 300mg and Parnate 60mg changed the entire equation.

If you could go down off the 3mg, it sounds like you could handle some upping and lowering of the klonopin. I envy you, and the others who can do that. I'm a klonopin junky. I only feel the effects if I dont take it.

I know Requip has been useful for folks with Restless Leg. Is that similar or the same to PLMD?

Also, my neuro said my "restless" left arm is part of it also. I currently take 0.125 mg of Mirapex for it, but I'm thinking the dose may be raised.

I imagine that must be really disruptive and uncomfortable. I occasionally get just generally restless, often when I'm trying to get to sleep, but also if I'm at a movie or play or sometimes a meeting. Then I start to panic if I can't get up and move around, and things get worse.
I hope you find the right stuff to relieve that.
