Hello,
I am looking for some feedback as to if there is any difference in the side effect profile of Wellbutrin XL vs SR. I currently take 300 mg XL along with Zoloft, but I really want to stop the Zoloft because I have gained so much weight on SSRIs. The problem is that the XL alone tends to make we irritable and edgy. Has anyone found that the SR does not cause this? Also, has anyone had success in loosing weight on a Wellbutrin/AD combo? Thanks!

I never took the XL but the 300 mgs SR definitely increased my agitation and euphoria for the first 4-6 months or so.

Thanks Joe and Phillipa. The Zoloft/Wellbutrin combo works really well for me- the wellbutrin gives me motivation while the Zoloft addresses the anxiety and irritability. However, the 15 pounds that I have gained in 3 months since starting the Zoloft is unacceptable to me. Maybe I will try to lower the Zoloft dosage and see if it helps.

I have found both Zoloft and Wellbutrin to help keep my weight down, but I know that it is common for people to gain weight on SSRIs (for me they are a little activating).
I was taking 150 mg of Wellbutrin XL but recently quit in order to try Emsam. I am nervous that I will gain weight.
