SSRI plus a Stimulant

Posted by bulldog2 on December 22, 2006, at 11:28:49

Has anyone ever had any success combining an SSRI plus a stimulant? I wonder if you could get the best of both worlds by upping serotonin and dopamine through this method. Or does the combo just cancel each other out?

I've never taken an SSRI with a stimulant but I don't think they would cancel each other out. Personally I think I would become very jittery given my responses to both stims and SSRIs.

I did once swalow a lump of amphetamine paste while taking Parnate though with powerful effect.

Adding a stimulant such as provigil, ritalin or adderall to ssri is a common strategy. They don't usually cancel out. The combo is often used to enhance overall effectiveness.
