Hello folks, I 've been on Parnate for about four weeks, now at 40 mg daily. At second week on Parnate added Amisulpride (100 mg) with excellent results on the anhedonia and apathy apartment. One day i added Provigil 200 mg and feel greater, with more motivation/sociability. My doc three days ago put me on Ritalin 20 mg 2x day. I don't feel depressed, just lacking in motivation. The question to all babblers out there is: Can i add Provigil to my Parnate/Ritalin/Amisulpride combo? Someone has do it? Any information will be appreciated.
Cheers. Cristobal

Hey! Unfortuately I can't answer your question properly, except to say that it is a pretty serious combo you got going there... I'm sure that many pdocs would be extremely hesitant to combine parnate+ritalin, let alone the others.
Have you asked the pdoc what they think?
Kind regards
Meri

I...wouldn't. Stims can be combined with MAOis, but the dose must be lowered and heartrate and blood-pressure carefully monitored. Fine. Adding Amisulpride to the mix complicates everything more--those are three dopaminergic meds you're already taking.
Who's to know what the effect would be, with all the interactions that are going on already, but I wouldn't add modafinil on top of that. On top of everything, MAOis are still dangerous drugs. Maybe the present combination just needs time to work?
As I understand it, modafinil + MAOi is a preferred combination among practitioners to stimulant + MAOi. Perhaps replacing the ritalin with provigil would be a safer idea than adding them on top of one another?

Why all the stims? Could you not adust the dose of one stim rather than combine them? All those drugs are often very stimulating when taken alone. Parnate by itself could have much the same effect as that combo if the dose were raised high enough. It worked best for me in the 80-120mg range.

I want your doctor! Those are four meds most of us have a hard time getting prescibed one of, much less all four. I did not know provigal could saftely be taken with a stimulant? I knew that Ritalin was risky. I want to take amisulpride, but I cannot find a source!

Hi Backclass, I'm from Chile. My doctor was first hesitant of prescribing me Ritalin with Parnate, but i gave him some studies that show that combination is not that risky. You can see these studies in the Dr. Bob's Tips Section , just check the boxes stimulants and maois antidepressants in the search . See ya

I've taken Parnate with stimulants for years. Started with Ritalin, then changed to Adderall a couple of years ago. No problems. I've also used Provigil, but it did nothing except make me tense.
