Went to the doctor today and I told him I stopped taking the Abilify because it was making me bounce off the walls.
He asked me how I felt after I took my dose at night. I said great - I fall right to sleep and sleep great - but within 10 hours of taking my dose of Abiify I get irritable, anxious and emotional.
He said it sounded like it wasn't lasting long enough. He told me to take 5mg tonight instead of 2mg.
He said if I was hospitalized they would start me out at at least 5mg and then 10mg.
So, I will give it a try and see how it goes. I would love to have the relaxed feeling carry over to the day.
We'll see.

Good luck...I started out at 5mg and other than the sweating like crazy for 2 nights, I've had no other side effects...

I can't understand this logic here. 5mg is a stronger dose but this doesn't change the drugs half-life. I personally think you should lower it until the anxiety dissipates.
> He said if I was hospitalized they would start me out at at least 5mg and then 10mg.They probably would. But your not hospitalised as far as I can tell. Is this his justification for upping the dose?
> So, I will give it a try and see how it goes. I would love to have the relaxed feeling carry over to the day.I can't see how going to 5mg will do that. I think maybe start lower then proceed to a steady dose. But I don't know all the circumstances here.
