Lexapro will have me out of depression w/ in a couple of days, yet it triggers hypomanic symptoms.
Do i need to get stablized (depakote) before adding lexapro, or can i try/do both at the same time?
Thanks

Obviously, your doctor will have to answer that one definitively. Have you asked her about it yet? If so, what did she have to say?
In answer to your question, though:
You can start both at once, but ideally you wouldn't. If you start both at once, it's harder to tell which drug is having which effect. It's just a question of reducing the variables, though -- there's no reason beyond that to say start one at a time. It's just the usual, "Doc, I've grown a purple horn in the middle of my forehead, which drug is doing that?" "Gee, I don't know -- it could be either one..." thing.
(Although, I don't know of any drug that actually does cause a purple horn to grow on the forehead... ;-) )
I hope you're doing OK. I'm glad you're still posting here.
This is the end of the thread.
