I am wondering if anyone has jaw clenching tension or yawning ( I am not completely sure what yawning is) on Wellbutrin . I have to take effexor to get it to go away but hate effexor so i am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and there is another remedy for this side effect. My doctor said he has never heard of this side effect. But trust me I get it, it is like my jaw feels weird and I move it almost involuntarily, like someone on speed when they move their jaws weird.
Anyone have a clue what I am talking about? I know everyone is different and gets differing side effects/reactions. I just hate effexor and would love to find another solution to this Wellbutrin problem!

I have this problem. I'm not sure if it's due to Effexor not not. I have an NTI device that I wear at nice to keep my teeth apart and a soft slpint for durning the day that I can wear if I feel I need to. I wouldn't say going on effexor is the answer. You could also try going for a TMJ massage which focuses on your jaw and neck muscles. I found it really helped. But most definately go talk to your denitist. I would not start effexor for it.

I've heard of it associated with effexor but not wellbutrin. Love Phillipa

Thanks so much for your feedback! I am already on Effexor for 2 years to mitigate the side effects on my jaw from wellbutrin. The combination works. I think my side effect from wellbutrin is rare, because my doctor had not heard of it. That is why I always say that everyones reaction is different. I have not met anyone who had this jaw thing I unfortunately get from it! I wish I had but I thought I would try here, just in case!
I have a friend who is on wellbutrin and does not get that jaw reaction, I envy her because she does not have to take someone thing else that ruins your sex drive!
