My doctor might be too conservative with this drug. I don't know why. He has patients at 300mg and two at 600mg, although they are being treated for different conditions. Initially, he had wanted me to build up to only 75mg after 2 weeks. I did it in one week because I delayed beginning treatment for a week. I am currently taking 100mg. Now, he wants me to be at 225mg two weeks from now. Does this seem slow for those of you who are currently taking 600mg? How did you go about increasing the dosage?

Yes, this is slow. I started at 50 mgs. tid, and increased it by 50 mgs. every 3rd or 4th day, (if the side effects weren't too bad). I was at 500 mgs. a day in divided doses in about 2-3 weeks and 600 in about 3 and a half weeks.
Hmmm...i can't understand why your Doctor is being so conservative with this med. You probably will feel tired on low dose Lyrica, and kind of 'intoxicated' at higher doses, until your body adjusts. I can see being smart and careful about the titration, but your Doc is being very cautious..i don't understand this. Perhaps he's concerned about an interaction with another med you are on?
