This is a really interesting med I stumbled upon
Before anyone gets excited I think theres no way its going to be available in the UK/US
Still its apparently a non benzo axiolytic that doesn't cause deppendency, and is actually reasonably effective.
Infact it can be used to treat benzo withdrawals
Does anyone know anything else about it?
Just curious!

I googled this and found numerous references but only one drug ( Suvren) from Ayerst Labs but I could not find out much about it except for one study showing efficacy in benzo withdrawl and possible use as an anxiolytic--do you have any idea where (or if) it is marketed--found a number of chemical references and descriptions but few of it as a pharmaceutical agent-what is it Thanks fca

What's in it I don't believe it anyway. They keep promising meds that work and it seems none do. Love Phillipa

Yeah--and if it replaces a medication that causes dependency, it won't cause dependency!!---- except, oh wait-- it actually will! ...But we didn't realize it until we came up with this new one that really doesn't...

Glad I sparked some interest, but look I'm not trying to push Captodiamine!
When I said it was novel I meant I'd never heard of it before, sorry if this caused confusion
I'm just interested medications that might provide an alternative to the conventional, for some people!

I was interested--wish I could find out more about it--if you do let us know--if it has been around that long I wonder if there is some down side because there sure would be a market for it--Thanks fca

I don't think Captodiamine does cause deppendency, at least not in the way benzos do
I'm suprised there isn't more interest in this med.
Apparently its an affective Axiolytic that doesn't cause "much" cognitive impearment at least compared to most benzo's
