I take cymbalta 60 mg, abilify, adderall... Could any of these are all cause my pressure to spike?
I have High BP anyway and take meds. But it hit 186/106 today with a pulse of 116. It's down some since I'm resting. But I feel although these meds are working they are not agreeing with me. Something made me gain belly fat.any input?
thanks in advance. I put a call into my Doc.

Hi
Duloxetine (Cymbalta) and amphetamine (Adderall) can both elevate blood pressure. You need to contact your doctor.

I called and told me to cut back the cymbalta to 30 and quit the adderall wich is not a problem I have not taken it long. It's funny how things can sneek up on ya... I 've rested most of the day and I know my pressure and pulse are down. I had to miss work cause of this..
Thanks

My money would be on the Adderall. Good thing you can cut it out.

Buy a blood pressure machine from your Pharmacy that measures at the arm and take your blood pressure at different times during the day. Record those and give to your doctor.
Cymbalta and other meds make my blood pressure spike usually only in the afternoon and at stressful times. Doesn't happen off those meds. My doc started me on medication as conservative measures did not help.
NSAIDs (nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs) like Motrin and Celebrex also made my BP spike dangerously high and I never felt any different. It sneaks up on you, so check your BP if you take those also.

Effexor is similar to Cymbalta. It caused a big increase in my BP. I don't know much about Adderall or Abilify.

150/95 is high. Is it this high all the time? Mine was only 130/90 and they started me on a beta-blocker (due to panic attacks I get). You need to see your doctor about this, but bring your daily readings.
Aleve can cause elevated BP. Does Tylenol help you? If so, switch and see if that makes a difference. Motrin elevated my BP, but not as much as Celebrex or Vioxx (went to 180/110!)
As I lowered my Cymbalta dose, BP lowered, too. Too bad the 5mg I was able to tolerate (due to side effects) didn't help with my primary problem.
You probably need to have your C-reactive protein checked (cardiac sensitive) as well as other labs. Are you checked regularly by a doctor?
