I have to say that I agree with most of what was said in the article. It summarizes quite well how the drugs effect a lot of people.

I would agree that all serotonergic antidepressants are emotional anesthetizers, not really antidepressants. Since I've tried them all, in my experience prozac is the least guilty of them all. It stimulates norepinephrine and dopamine in a way the others don't, especially more noticeable at low doses before the serotonergic effect covers it up at higher doses. That's just how it felt to me though. All the others, very emotionally numbing.

Well that explains why I can tolerate luvox and not prozac. Having had panic attacks for years they are gone on luvox and I don't need as much valium. Makes perfect sense to me based on my experience with both of the meds. Thanks Phillipa

I hate SSRI's and most AD's but even though I had shocking withdrawals from Luvox, it was the only SSRI that actually did anything for me. I could sleep again, oh the lovely sleep, until it pooped out. Prozac just agitated me, made me anxious, crack teeth and increase my insomnia. Paul
