Folks,
I feel off the wagon Friday night, binging on cocaine and alcohol. Since then it's been a downward spiral: a week later I feel worse than I did the day after, and physically and mentally disabled. Today I awoke more depressed than I have ever felt before; it's 8:30 a.m. and I can't wait to go home and get back into bed. I can't read, I can't concentrate. I feel as if there's a hole in my head. Even something typically pleasurable such as a movie makes me feel nothing. In fact, I can't even watch the screen: I look through it, instead.
The only difference between this slip and my last one (which had happened a full month ago) is that during this current post-use depression I've augmented my typical psychotrophic medications (Celexa, Lamictal) with Zyprexa.
Is it possible that the Zyprexa, which I believe antagonizes dopamine release, is /causing/ this severely degraded mood? I took one yesterday morning, so it's been about 24 hours and I still feel like hell. Was taking the Zyprexa a bad idea?
I've heard Celexa is a rather weak SSRI. Are there any others that might pull me out of this downward spiral more quickly?
I am so scared! I can't read at ALL. I can't function at work. I just want to sleep and cry.

AMD, give yourself credit for a month of abstinence. That's better than before right? Rest and see what the experts say. So sorry you're feeling so bad now. Fondly, Phillipa
