Going from Effexor to EffexorXR

Posted by Angel40 on November 5, 2005, at 13:49:16

Hi, I'm new here and I have some questions.
I've taken Effexor for years without any problems, except right at the start. A little nausea but it went away. Now, thanks to changes in my insurance, I'm being switched to Effexor XR. I was taking Effexor 37.5mg twice a day and now I'm being switched to EffexorXR 37.5mg twice a day. Should I be concerned?? Is there any difference in the two? Or are they pretty much the same and I shouldn't have any problems with the EffexorXR?? I know the Effexor XR is extended release and I wonder how that will effect me. THanks, Angel40

Angela that's a good question. What is the real difference? I took the regular effexor 37.5mg but only once a day. Is extended release better or have more side effects. Stronger or what? Fondly, Phillipa
