Does anyone here have a list of common side effects for amineptine (Survector)?
I've been on it for three days at a low dosage and feel stomach pain which is mild but I hope this is not dangerous for my stomach. Also I have a decreased appetite.
Is this normal? If anyone has tried amineptine..even once.. please reply soon.
Thank you very much in advance! :-)
Paul

Actually it was never banned...just voluntarily withdrawn from the market by Servier in France in 1999 and was still being produced in Brazil until early 2005. In China it is still being produced but it is a controlled substance in many countries.
In Canada it is a Schedule III, but in the USA and UK it is not scheduled. :-)
I'm getting it in Indonesia, which Servier removed from the market here in 2002/03, but there is a huge stockpile left over and I'm buying up as much as I can. :-)

Hey Paul
I'm not suprised Amineptine is reducing your appitiate, since its highly stimulating and stimulants tend to do this.
I wouldn't worry about the stomach pains unless they get very bad, or you've started getting blood in your stools, or vomiting.
It might be an idea to get a liver test though, I think Amineptine can affect the liver.May I ask how exactly your getting hold of Amineptine?
I thought it was banned the world over, do you live in Indonesia?
You can babblemail me the details if you don't want to post them.Is Amineptine working for your depression?
Take care anyway
Tom

Do you happen to know the pharmacology exactly of survector. Is it amphetamine like or more dopamine antidepressant like. I hear and read different issues from addiction to the best Dopaminergic out there.

i believe its a dopamine reuptake inhibitor, and at higher doses, a releaser. It causes spontanesous orgasms in women quite frequently. You can see why it would be banned based on the above properties. :)

I wrote a piece on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amineptine
Sorry, have to power down my PC for now... lots of lightning. :-(

About 12 hours after I take amineptine (and only 25mg...very low dose) my stomach feels like it has a lit match inside it... just a sensation of burning and some dull pain. Almost exactly what happened to me on Prozac before I developed GI bleeding and ended up in the hospital.
I thought about taking a proton pump inhibitor but I'm not sure if that would help or not, because even Pepcid + antacid doesn't help much, if at all.
I guess I'm far too sensitive to medications. I could try amineptine at an even lower dosage but I'm afraid it might not work.
The good news is that it has increased my libido and I wake up in the morning refreshed and not groggy. :-) I feel less worry and an antidepressant effect.
I suppose for now I'll have to rely on Stablon (tianeptine) which I've taken for 7 months. It is good for depression and anxiety but doesn't boost motivation (not for me anyway) and doesn't help with the sex drive, although it doesn't hurt it either.
Maybe I'll try some of the other dopaminergic drugs since they are pro-sexual/pro-motivation.
I hope there is another alternative out there that is just as good as Survector, but minus the burning and pain in the stomach.

Hi Paul
Niamid (nialimide) used to be available here, 30 years ago maybe. Hadn't seen the name for ages.
