Abilify, Morning or Evening?

Posted by theo on October 24, 2005, at 22:50:59

Well, I finally got over my flu and am probably going to try Abilify, although this tardive dyskinesia business still has me full of anxiety.

When (if) I do get my nerve up, when is the best time to take this one, morning or evening?

Many people find Abilify energizing. In the beginning of treatment, anxiety and insomnia often emerge as temporary startup side effects, so it might be best to take it in the morning. It does have a long half life (75 hrs), though, and it might not make much difference. I take mine in the morning.

Good luck.

I've tried both times. When I take it in the evening I don't sleep at all. When I take it in the morning it was better.

Definately take it in the morning. It is a 'stimulating' drug, not sedating.
