I'd love to know, out of all the meds, which ones have worked the best with the least side effects. I wish I could do a poll.

It depends on one's symptoms. For the average patient who has a mixture of anxiety, depression, ADD, and sleep problems; there are a few that I like due to low side effects.
I like the 4 drugs that I am currently taking; provigil, lamictal, and lexapro, and lunesta. Lexapro has the most side effects of the 4. It's side effects are similar to the other SSRI's; mostly tiredness and sexual side effects which are dose related. But with the first 2 drugs, I am able to take a lower dose of Lexapro.
Other drugs that I do not take, but seem to be effective with low side effects include: Ritalin, Adderall, Neurontin, Wellbutrin, and Seroquel. But Seroquel has more side effects than the others mentioned.
Effexor is very effective and generally has side effects similar to SSRI's. But it seems like it may be more difficult to discontinue than some of the other drugs.
These are just my thoughts and I'm sure that others will disagree. I'm certainly not an expert on these drugs. But the best drugs for someone depends on what their symptoms are. Also, it depends on if one is pregnant or breast feeding.

Oops, I probably should have indicated that I was referring to bipolar meds.
Thanks for your info Bill. It helps to know what's helped others as I try to decide what meds to try myself. Currently I'm on Wellbutrin and Tegretol which are working for the most part in stabalizing my moods, but the "crashes" are starting to happen again. I'm thinking that a stronger antidepressant may be needed.
