I as on Wellbutrin a few years ago and it worked very well after about 10 days. I started it again two days ago and already feel calmer, less obsessive, and slightly muted. Is this just psychological? Has anyone else had wellbutrin work so fast?

I've never taken wellbutrin but maybe your body somehow 'remembers' it and already knows what to do with it and how to utilise it. Probably sounds silly but its just a thought.

I don't think that it is unusual to feel WB kicking in so quickly. I think that it ususally does. Sounds like it could be a positive thing for you. Yea! :)

I felt a difference in the true (non-generic) Wellbutrin XL after only two days (300mg), however the side effects were just as strong as the improvements to my disposition. We halved the dose and now; no side effects, but no improvement. :(

After I took my first dose of Wellbutrin, I felt a distinct improvement within twelve hours. I felt a tremendous sense of relief. (Package insert listed "unusual sense of well-being" as a side effect, as I recall. Gimme more of those side effects then!)

I agree, that cracked me up. I said something similar to my pdoc and (although usually a woman with a good sense of humor) she just didn't find it funny.
(Side story) That also reminds me of when I was having a slight case of serotonin syndrome and I was all hyper and told her, "This is kind of cool. Now I know why people sometimes like to stay manic." She looked very concerned and then asked me a number of follow-up questions to figure out if I was having a manic episode. Apparently pdocs don't find humor about mania amusing. ;) Good times. I miss my old pdoc.

EE
