effexer

Just took my first dose today, after reading all the posts out there I'm a little scared! I really need some (med) help at this time In my life and feel comfortable with the doc's choice but still don't have a warm and fuzzy feeling from allof the posts I've read. Is ANYONE happy with this med? I'm on 37.5 xr cause I'm very drug sensititive she also wants me to take a mild dose of klon. in the evening to help regulate my sleep. Not sure if I should start on this too.

: ) u are not alone! i have responded to so many posts about effexor re: the same concerns. i am one that effexor xr works the best so far (opposed to all the other AD's i've tried) and i too take klonopin. i have never exp. any of the s/e listed by others BUT each person is different and responds differently to meds.. i even quit effexor cold and had no w/d effects at all but i had not accepted that i needed a med. to feel *ok* at that time. i now know i may need a med. for a long time and that's ok so i'm back on it at 225mg daily. I think another poster is Racer (ck ^^^ post about effexor as i'm not 100%) that effexor works very well for. it may help u, it may not but it is worth a try. take care ; )

Thanks for taking the time to post a success story about Effexor.

There are many more success stories in the general population than there are are posted on Psycho-Babble, presumably because Psycho-Babble attracts predominantly people whom are treatment-resistant. I, for one, would never have come searching the Internet for a site like this if I had responded to one of the first few drugs that I tried.

I'm still working on being a success story. Psycho-Babble is helping.

Hey Scott! I wish i were a success story :( The point i was trying to make was that of all 20 of the meds. that i have tried, effexor has helped the most. By no means am i where i should be. It basically keeps the suicidal thoughts out of my head. It's ironic, but i accidently stumbled onto this site and i'm very glad i did. I have my facts together for when i see my doc next week about what *I* think an option is. I have read a lot of ur posts and FYI, i admire ur knowledge and concern u show others. Take care of u!
