Yesterday was my first day at 100mg, and last night I had some weird effects that I think are from it, so it's time to start asking about them...
First of all, anyone else have some constipation on it? [blushing] Flatulence?
Also, last night while I couldn't sleep, I also started getting a weird kind of effect that I usually get with high fevers: it's a sort of distortion of my environment, which is very hard to describe. Best I can do is that I felt as though my whole body was stretched out to about three times my height, and my "self" -- consciousness, whatever -- was somewhat removed from my body. Kind of felt as though my mind was way at the back of my head, rather than inhabiting my body? It's a weird feeling, and when I have a fever it's the sign that it's time to take to my bed or the ER. (I know it's time for the ER when "the elephants start walking across me in bed" -- don't ask, but that's what it's like, has been since I was a little kid.)
Also, the past couple of weeks, since going up to 50mg, I've been having bouts of very, very intense depression. Days of gulping sobs and hating life and just nothing good at all. They do pass, but they're like something I'd have with no meds -- much worse than what I'd been dealing with before the Lamictal. And they seem to come out of nowhere.
Has anyone had any of these things with Lamictal? Are they transient? Long lasting? A sign that this ain't for me?

I've been on 100 mg of Lamictal for about 2 weeks. The last few nights I've had a terrible time falling asleep. Have had severe gas that stays up in my intestine and causes distension for many hours (12+)before passing.
I resorted to taking about 1.5 to 3 mg of Lunesta. It hasn't helped much.
Been having shock like sensations just when I think I'm about to fall asleep. Then I'm extremey "tired but wired." Had muscle cramp across middle of back last night that went away when I drank water. Have had to urinate many times today.
I was about to post asking if the above could be due to the fact that I'm down to .5 mg of clonazepam -- from 3 mg (slowly tapering off). Then saw your post about gas and insomnia.
I'm one step from going to the ER.
Anyone have any idea which is more likely to be causing my problems? clonazepam discontinuation or Lamictal?
I may not respond to posts today. Just read.
