How long is a fair trial for an MAOI?

Hey everone

Sorry for yet another depressing post

I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with Marplan
How long should I take it for, before giving up?

I only got to 30mgs last Tuesday, but I'm becoming so dispirited

Hi Tom,

I'd give it six weeks at the highest tolerated dose before giving up. 30mg is a low dose. I wouldn't expect too much from 30mg. Now that your start-up anxiety has passed, I hope you'll be able to increase the dose without too many problems.

I think a higher dose of Marplan is usually needed (at least 60mg)..I would give it 3 weeks at the max dose.
