Can I take Zyprexa with Dexedrine?

Posted by rjlockhart98 on July 24, 2005, at 22:45:24

I may increase the doseage of Zyprexa to 5mg

Collage is starting, I am going to start out on Dexedrine, the only problem, that i had before is insomina SEVERE.

Would Zyprexa be a better sedative, instead of going to more potent benzo, or even barbiturates (count that out)

The only problem is it may prevent Dexedrine from working fully. Some dopamine blockage.

There where somenight i would go so nuerotic that i couldnt sleep i would go into a rage. Clonazepam at 4mg would usally lower down, and most of the time get me to sleep, but back then i was only on 2.5 mg a day.

And one more question, are barbiturates superior insome ways to benzo;s in sleep patterns?
I know all about toxity and misuse.

I take Restoril 30mg currently.

When i had severe, i mean SEVERE as in going into a hospital, i was on :
Restoril 30mg
Lorazepam 2mg

Someone tell me something, you dont have to awnser the question, but your input would be fine.

Thank you

Matt

There are a few newer style sleeping pills that aren't benzo's. I'm in Australia and it's called Stilnox (Zolpidem Tartrate)and it works quickly and it's not the only one. I think that there are a few others out there too

I forgot to mention that I hate Zyprexa. How on earth could you study on that stuff???? I think it should be illegal. I was on it for 2 months and don't remember much from that time at all. I think that I'm lucky to still have a job

I used to take 15mg of zyprexa and had no problem holding down my job as a computer programmer. I think it would be a shame if zyprexa were made illegal. Buns

Agreed, for Suicidal Ideation zyprexa was very good. I'd take it all the time if it weren't for the fat factor.

Hi Matt
You were taking Adderal, the long acting sort, weren't you? If you are going to be taking immediate acting Dex you should be able to do it early enough so that your insomnia is not aggravated.
